Some natural textures

A weekend trip to Windyridge Nurseries and Garden Centre in Deansgrange offered a chance to take some photographs and improve a little on my "flower names". I came away with a lovely duck which I have named Janet...but can't remember the flower growing in her now!!

Flowers are widely used by artists/designers/poets/painters etc. etc. as inspiration, so much so that sometimes I think how unoriginal! But seeing the selection of beautiful flowers, plants and grasses available they are such an obvious subject to study....they offer colour stories, texture, proportion, shape, weight. Particularly regarding colour they are a great way of working out colour combinations whether you are looking to match or clash colours, your answer can come from a click of a camera.
